Lane & side assist
Monotonous journeys can sometimes turn into dangerous situations. This is where Lane Assist can help: From a speed of 60 km/h, it can detect whether the vehicle unintentionally leaves its own lane. With corrective steering intervention, it can direct the driver's attention back to what's happening on the road.
The Side Assist can alert you to dangerous lane changes. An LED indicator in the exterior mirror tells you when a vehicle is in your blind spot or approaching quickly from behind.
Travel & emergency assist
With the Travel Assist you have an extremely useful driving assistant on board. It can keep you in your lane, maintain a minimum distance to the vehicle in front and the maximum speed you have set.
One of the features it uses to do this is adaptive lane guidance. This actively keeps the vehicle in the middle of the lane. Travel Assist adapts to your driving style and can also drive further to the left or right in its own lane instead of exactly in the middle. If your Volkswagen is fitted with Park Assist, Side Assist and a navigation system, Travel Assist can also actively support you when changing lanes on the motorway as an option.
Adaptive cruise control & front assist
The Adaptive Cruise Control ACC helps you to maintain a previously set maximum speed and preset distance to the vehicle in front.
The standard Front Assist emergency braking system with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring can warn you of critical situations involving pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles. It can even brake automatically in emergency situations. In evasive and turn-off situations, Front Assist can potentially prevent an impending accident within the limits of the system by issuing a warning or applying the emergency brake.
